CONGRATULATIONS

Firstly a huge congratulations to all members of the 8 week challenge. I want to congratulate you all because you've all done so well. There's been some massive changes taking place and some of the numbers are phenomenal - I'm jealous - in a really good way :P

Also a huge thanks you to Essendon for all your time, effort and energy in organising this challenge. There are so many positives that have come from this and I hope you know how pivotal you have been in everyone's lives over the last 8 weeks. Too much bro!!

I'm saddened in a way that this is coming to an end as I've enjoyed the camaraderie and getting to know some really good people. If you guys are that pleasent at 6:00am in the morning then I can only imagine how nice you must be when you get to sleep in - lol. I'm glad that I'll get to see most of you on Sunday now.

Looking forward to our breakie on Saturday (and the run lol) - until then take care and keep well.

P.S. 300 IV LIFE BOYEEE!!

Relax and get ready to roll again brothers...

Here's something to help you think on the come down from all those bridges and situps guys!!

Felt a bit stink that I put on 100grams from last week but it's nothing - this isn't about 8 weeks as Essendon says, it's about the rest of our lives so lets keep that in mind brothers and it's off to the weekend!!!

THE TOUGH GET GOING

So we're almost at the mid-way point in the 8 week challenge and I'm fairly sure I'm not just speaking for myself when I say things are becoming more intense. Not intensity that we can't handle, just something to be mindful of. It's great to hear all the encouragement coming from each other while we're training, personally it helps me push a little bit further and I definitely feed off it. With only 14 sessions to go - when the going gets tough...

Some may say this is a cheesy 80's clip but to me this is a vintage era and a primo song. If you didn't get down to this tune back in day then you're either a) too young b) hard of hearing or c) have two left feet! What a great voice but check out the dance moves between the 3:42 and 3:46 minute marks. Heh heh, okay I'm going to stop sipping on my haterade now. See you all in the morning fams :D

A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE...

Hey peeps, after the run in the weekend I'd like to introduce you to a good friend of mine. We haven't seen each other for quite some time but I find I'm in need of their service more and more lately ;)

Cheers to everyone for sticking with the challenge - A quarter of the way through and everyone's doing really well.

Team 1 - Team Titan
Team 2 - The Luchadores
Team 3 - Team 300

Does anyone know what Team 4 & 5 are called?

Way to go this morning boys!! Those stairs just make the morning that much more interesting aye :o). I reckon the hardest part isn't the going up but the effort it takes to get your jelly legs to stop you making an uncontrolled descent head first back down. Great effort from all of the teams today and teams 2 and 3 are inspirations to us all with their ability to clock up the yards on the pavement!

Team Titan/The Forwards are getting there and with the pace set by the like of Jason and Junior we are starting to feel the burn and the burn feels goooooooooooooooooood!

Maybe I will go and clean the dust off my old road bike today....

HOW 'BOUT OUR WARRIORS **Update**

**Update** In case you blinked and didn't catch thet action last night - check out the video below. Hearty bro, hearty!!

I have to big up the brothers for the stunning victory they fought hard for tonight. What a great game from the team that was on the brink of not making the top 8. I don't know what it takes to be out on the field playing in the premier league competition in the world, but I do know that when you're trying to do something that's against the odds or face an obstacle that's difficult, you need to have the belief that you can do it. Their example over the season is a good inspiration for our own challenges that we continually face over our 8 weeks.

I'm going to deal to McDonalds like Wiki did to Sia Soliola - lol. Ok enough from me in my sleep deprived state. See you all in the morning.

Team One is number 1!!!

GO TEAM TITAN

Good effort on the run guys and especially from team Titan! (group1).

I wasn't too sure what the guys were thinking when we got to the end of the run and they were heading back the way we came. In my head there was a voice screaming "what the?!?! we just finished guys - are you crazy!?!?" - but when we got to the corner and I realised that we were going back to bring Nigel and Tepa for the home run I knew this team would be up to the task of lifting each other when it was needed.

I was dreading the weigh in but losing 2kgs was a buzz - just like being able to keep up with the 3 sets of 30 second bridges. I think I will feel that in the morning.

So, whos up for boxing in the morning?

MY INSPIRATION

WELL DONE SPARTENS!!!!!

FALL DOWN 7 TIMES, GET UP 8

Ok so I've been eating the right foods and going to training and feeling much better than I have for quite some time, but when I weighed myself on the scales this morning I found that I put on 2 kgs?? 2 kgs in 1 week?? When I read that weight I looked at the scales wondering if they were malfunctioning, but alas they're working fine.

So if anyone else has put on weight or not lost as much as you intended - then I feel your pain lol. I'm gonna take it as something positive in the grand scheme of things because now there's no time to be complacent - only time to put in the hard yards.

Well that's it from me - I hope you all enjoyed this morning. Only 19 sessions left!!

DAYS OFF

Hi guys

Funny this morning, I was lying down in bed and was awoken by the birds cherping.
And I contemplated and even visualized myself going for a run through the streets
of Papatoetoe's but instead I got ready for work and drove off in the car. he he he

Just thought I'd share my experience this morning.
It's funny how intentions and actions are two totally different things.
Just thought I'd leave you with a thought for the day...

BEEP TEST

Prop's to the boys this morning, Ray S you did really well,
Just finished reading the results and well done to all of you's.

Remember guys diet is key, Boss Burgers are the enemy and so is Hells Pizza...lol

Bring on Tuna and Rice crackers and carrots and veges
ummmmm my mouth is watering now....lol

Go well my fellow spartens!!!!!!!!LMAO

Beep Test

Well done today all. Good efforts all round. Great to see and hear all the encouragement from all the brothers. Onward and downward. Onward with our fitness and health/Downward with our weight. Have a great day all and GOD Bless.

Beep test goodness

What a way to start the day brothers! From here on in I will remember the number 28 - it's my number to work on and beat next time round. Hope you're feeling better Charles - hope you didn't get the bug off me last Saturday :o(

Week 2 and I am really missing the junk food - no correction, I don't miss it, it is my enemy....tasty tasty enemy........ Seriously though we have made the choice to avoid the things that we know are bad - all the fastfood and fizzy drinks and I have noticed that I don't feel as bloated and after the initial withdrawal symptoms I am feeling better. Time to move onto eating more salads and a few less sugars in the coffee and tea.

Tomorrow I will be catching up with Blair and Mark to try running along the reserve by our house as the council has recently built some really good paths along it and there are some good inclines and a few steps to move along. The scenery is good too - takes your mind off the burning feeling in your legs. You guys are more than welcome to come along as well and as Daylight savings kicks in we'll have more light to run in. We meet at my place in Manurewa at 6pm and you can text me on 021 585151 if you want more detail. We are doing this to try and build on the work Essendon has started and it's a good way to get a routine in place.

Here are some shots of the steps and the view along the run. Good work this morning and let's get this monkey jumping :o)

Greetings and salutations

Firstly I would like to thank you all for your support and friendship from just the first week of this challenge. I would also like to thank Blair for putting this little blog together so that we get a chance to share outside of training.

This mornings training was a killer and I know that things can only get better - that's not to mean easier just better physically and mentally. I am learning to be humble in the knowledge that I have to begin somewhere and it's the not just about my well being but for the good of all I hold dear that I do this - even if I would prefer to pull the blankets around me tighter when the alarm goes off at 5:30am.

I wasn't sure I could do anything this morning but Charles and Frank prayed over me and I got to feel and understand their commitment to not just my physical well being but my spiritual learning.

Thanks to you all.

Ray S.

WELCOME

Kia Ora,

Nau Mai, Haere Mai and Welcome to the 300 Club. This blog will be updated regularly but relies upon as many people as possible contributing to the site. If you have no idea of what a blog is - don't fear - the link below from Wikipedia has an explanation that should provide a basic understanding of what everything's about.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog

So just think of this blog as an online journal that you get to contribute and reply too.

I've given everyone 'author' rights, which means from the email you've supplied Essendon, you'll be able to use that as a username to sign in to the blog site and create posts. Just ensure that you keep on topic because we're not here to find out if you like candlelight dinners or long walks on beaches.

If creating posts isn't your cup of tea, then feel free to send the information my way and I can post it on your behalf.

If you have any queries about anything at all then just let me know and I'll do my best to answer. If you're not keen to be part of this then again just let me know and I can remove your name and ensure no further emails are sent your way.

Finally I hope everyone goes hard in the 8 week challenge - by the time you read this we would have been through 3 sessions out of a total of 24 sessions. Only 21 sessions left - Let's do this!!!
